Delete your account

1. Open Khabara and go to the Profile tab.
2. Tap Delete account, at the bottom of the screen.
3. Confirm it's you. Depending on how you sign in, the screen offers some of these: enter your password, confirm with Google, or have a confirmation link emailed to you.
4. With your password or Google, type DELETE and tap the delete button. With an emailed link, open the link in your browser within 30 minutes, type DELETE, and confirm there.

1. Sign in to Khabara.
2. Go to your account page and choose Delete my account, or go straight to the account deletion form.
3. Confirm it's you with your password. If you sign in with Google or Apple, or you've forgotten your password, ask for a confirmation link by email instead. The link expires in 30 minutes.
4. Type DELETE and confirm.

If you can't use the app or the website, write to khabara.app@gmail.com and tell us the email address on the account you want deleted. We'll email a confirmation link to the address on the account, and we can't delete an account without confirmation from that address.

Once you confirm, your account is deleted from our live systems immediately. There's no grace period, and the deletion can't be undone, from the app or by our team. Deleting your account removes:

• Your account itself: your email address, display name, profile picture, and your password (which we only ever store hashed).
• Our link to your Google or Apple sign-in, and any active sign-in sessions.
• Your learning progress: XP, streaks and streak freezes, daily goal, dialect preference, your place on the lesson path, completed lessons, word and phrase mastery and review schedule, achievements, and your day-by-day activity log.
• Any feedback you sent while signed in to the account.
• Feedback you sent while signed out, if it carries your account's email address and you confirmed the deletion with Google or an emailed link.
• Any password-reset or account-deletion links that haven't been used yet.

When it's done, we send one last email to the address on the account to let you know it was deleted. If you come back to Khabara later, you'll start over with a brand new, empty account: signing in with Google or Apple creates one, and with an email and password you'll need to sign up again.

• Basic usage data, such as when a lesson was started or a quiz completed. Instead of deleting these records, we disconnect them from your account, so each one is no longer linked to your account. We keep them in that form, with no set end date, for aggregate statistics about how people use Khabara.
• Feedback you sent while signed out that the deletion doesn't remove: notes with no email address, notes sent from a different email address, and, if you confirmed the deletion with your password, notes sent from your account's address. None of it is linked to your account. We keep it until you ask us to remove it; write to us at the address above.
• A server log entry recording that an account was deleted, how it was confirmed, which platform it came from (the web or the Android app), and how many records were removed. It identifies the account only by a one-way fingerprint, never by your name or email address. Our server logs are kept for up to 30 days.
• Backups. Copies of your data can remain in our database provider's backups for up to 30 days, until they're overwritten. We only use backups to recover from a failure, and never to restore a deleted account.
• Email delivery logs. Resend, the provider that sends our email, keeps delivery logs of the emails we sent you, including the “account deleted” email and the address it went to, for as long as Resend's own retention policy sets.

Deleting your account removes our link to your Google or Apple sign-in, but Google or Apple may still list Khabara among the apps connected to your account. You can also remove Khabara there, in your Google or Apple account settings.
